Introduction to version control

Most open-source platforms are developed using public repositories for code and data. The most common of these include Github, Gitlab, and Bitbucket. Utilizing such repositories will be central to the development of any open-source SDG NRP. Platform code itself will commonly be maintained on such a repository, and some platforms will also take advantage of hosting services.
